Being alive while Alive (1)

You owe it to yourself to be alive while living. I bet there are a lot of walking dead on the earth.

There is death in life and life in death. There is a continuous battle between the forces of life and death. Death is nothing but the total absence of life.

It takes effort to live. Meanwhile, it takes little or no effort to die. Simply stop sustaining life and death shows up. One paramount way to end life is to stop feeding it. Right from conception, there has been an interplay between the processes of life and death. Children heal better and faster, they run around tirelessly as they have more anti-oxidants in their system while in the adults, the level and rate of repair is slower, the level of anti-oxidants diminished and the processes of death are higher. Adults need to learn the act of living while alive.

That takes us to the question: What are you feeding on?

Think of it this way; life can be best sustained by feeding on life.

Which of these actually still contains life:

  1. Fresh fruits
  2. Fresh green vegetables
  3. French fries
  4. Burger
  5. Pasta
  6. Bread
  7. Barbecued fish/meat

What ever as passed through heat is obviously dead. What was just harvested off the tree and freshly plucked is definitely still living though the process of death was activated the moment it was detached from source. Freshly made beef/fish/chicken (eaten same day) is closer to life than that which has been stored  or preserved for days to months. The greater the heat applied and the longer the food is preserved (salted, smoked, refrigerated etc), much more death (chemical compounds considered to be carcinogenic) is present in the food.

Thus, to sustain life, you need to focus on taking more of fresh vegetables and fruits. If you must take animal products, same day products are better. While you are free to consume other things, just realize that the tilt between death and life tends to be much more towards death after middle age. You may indulge in all you want before the age of forty but once beyond forty years, focus more on those things which still have more life than death notwithstanding the taste!
