Mobile Trees

I have not been able to stop thinking of human beings as mobile trees. I thought to pen down my thoughts and I kept writing as my imagination paved the way to illumination.

We now know that all the elements seen in man are found in nature and particularly in the earth- soil. The only intangible thing that science has not been able to conceptualize is life itself. Think about it:

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

Genesis 2:7 (KJV)

A man starts as a seed sown in the womb of a woman. When you see the anatomy of the placenta, you will understand how the growth of a baby is like that of a tree. Then, when it is time, that baby is transplanted unto the earth. The only difference is that he learns to walk and move from place to place. Yet the whole process of living is like a tree. Thus the term – mobile tree.

“He will be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither. He will prosper in everything he does.”

Psalm 1:3 (ISV)

What does a tree need to flourish and how does that apply to a human being? How can you apply this knowledge to your personal life? For example, trees do not necessarily grow up where they are planted. They may be planted in the nursery and transplanted to another place. So also, men move from their place of birth to live in another city. No matter how potent a seed is, it will only flourish and fulfill its potential if planted in the right soil and under appropriate conditions. So also a man may never fulfill his purpose or achieve his potential due to the limitations of his environment.

Some seeds are stubborn, and you find them growing under very harsh conditions, so also we have had individuals who thrived in the most limiting of situations. This is not the norm but the exception.

I want to be planted by God. I believe in the creator who made me and has a purpose for my life. I believe that if I allow him to have his way in my life and I actively take responsibility for my decisions, he will plant me in the right place and I will flourish. What of you? What do you believe? I only know what I believe.

“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.”

Isaiah 61:3 (KJV) Emphasis mine.

“But those who trust in the LORD will be blessed. They know that the LORD will do what he says. They will be strong like trees planted near a stream that send out roots to the water. They have nothing to fear when the days get hot. Their leaves are always green. They never worry, even in a year that has no rain. They always produce fruit.”

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (ISV)
