What about the Bible?

  • The Bible is not a book but a library of books- 66 of them
  • The authors of the different books are real persons with evidence of their existence in history books.
  • The nations depicted in the bible and the events are all real and confirmed by history and archeological findings
  • The Bible was written over centuries by different authors moved by the Holy Spirit of God and they are all consistent in pointing mankind to the God who made the heavens and the earth.
  • The Bible is the oldest best-selling book and continues to top the list.
  • The people of the book are continually under attack and the attempt to destroy the book has been a constant event but none has succeeded in wiping out the people of the book nor the book itself.
  • The prophecies in the Bible have been fulfilled in a consistent manner and only very few are yet to come to pass and that is because their time of fulfillment is still in the future.
  • The Bible offers answers to man’s problems without encouraging annihilation of any of God’s creations regardless of race, ethnicity, faith, or tribe.
  • The Bible starts with the source of life, explains what sustains life, and offers everyone the way to it.
  • Science keeps confirming the contents of the Bible instead of refuting them. Scientists are more confused than ever in their attempts to disprove the truths contained in the bible.

5 reasons why you should read the Bible

1. Deep in every heart is a desire to find the source of all things. Yet, God, the source is not hidden. He is also trying to reach you. The bible contains the word of God and helps you to get a concise picture of him.

“Seek ye the Lord while he may be found.”

Isaiah 55: 6

2. Studying the bible is similar to reaching out to God, giving him attention and trying to know him. When you take a step toward God with a sincere heart, He also takes a step toward you.

The story of the Ethiopian eunuch

Eth Eunuch

“There was an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. He had gone to Jerusalem to worship and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the Bible. And the God said to Philip, “Go over and join his chariot.” So Philip ran to him and heard him reading the book of Isaiah the prophet and asked him, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. And the eunuch said to Philip, “About whom, I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?” Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus. And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?”

Acts 7: 27-31, 34-39

3. The Bible tells you a lot about God and the origin of man. There is no evidence to prove that there is no God but there is enough proof to show that there is a God who is the creator and he is not man.

There may be enough reason to think God is inactive, dormant, sleeping, or responsible for all calamities caused by religion but there is enough to show that he is being misrepresented. There is every proof that there is a creator who is the mastermind behind all which exists and he dwells in the supernatural.

4. Supernatural events orchestrated by God and evident in History are documented in the Bible. He has placed in all mankind the desire for him which expresses itself in the desire for the supernatural.

Deep in your heart is the ability to find him. Except you find him and discover the purpose for living, you may achieve all there is yet without being fulfilled. Achieving fame, riches, and honor and yet feeling empty leads often to depression and finally to suicide.

5. The simplest way to seek after the knowledge of God is to study the scriptures. Begin with whatever scriptures you have access to but if you ask me; I will advise you to start with the Holy Bible.

Final words:

If you love life, good health, and a sound mind, read the Bible.

“My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them and healing to all their flesh.” Proverbs 4:22

“But he delights in the LORD’s instruction, and meditates in his instruction day and night.
Psa 1:3  He will be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither. He will prosper in everything he does.”

Psalms 1:2-3
