I have only one request

I desire just one thing, just one!

She was sincere when she asked me, “what prayer point do you have for us?” She had been fasting and praying. She had a long prayer list. Yet, none impressed me. I gently told her, “let the Holy Spirit lead you”. Obviously, she was not satisfied.

The truth is that nothing really satisfies. It just gets you hungry for more. Money, position, sex, power, promotion, luxury, achievements, philanthropy, praises of men, triumphs, properties and possessions, excellence in career, etc. Nothing truly satisfies.

No more do I struggle for any of those things. Neither will I struggle to change my situation or location or status. Not any more will I pursue anything as long as I have just one thing – Your presence.

Your Presence

Let your presence be my habitation.

Let your presence be like oxygen to me.

Let your presence be much more real to me than my geographical location.

Let me see you surrounding me and let it be much more real than what I could see.

Let me hear your voice in the recess of my soul, let it be louder than my senses.

All I want Lord is to be qualified to dwell and experience your presence at every moment of my life.

“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”

Isaiah 43:2

Your presence makes all the difference

It was your presence which made the difference to Joseph. All he had was your approval.

It was your presence which made the difference to David. Your presence slaughtered Goliath.

It was your presence which made the difference to Elisha. The chariots of fire were more than enough.

It was your presence which made the difference in the fiery furnace. The three Hebrew boys were privileged to be with you in there.

It was your presence which made a difference in the lion’s den . The Lions made Daniel comfortable.

Your presence made the difference in the prison. You visited Paul and Silas and the ground quaked, you broke the gates of brass and the chains fell off. Yet, the prisoners refused to bail because in your presence they experienced true liberty.

I will not run away from the furnace if you are with me.

I do not need to avoid the river if you are in my boat.

I shall not be afraid of the valley of the shadow of death if thou art with me.

All I want and all I ever need is your presence, lord.

Make me always qualified for it. That is my prayer point.

“Lord, make me worthy of your presence always”.

“I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.”

Isaiah 45: 2-3
